✉️ You’re Invited: Educators in Conversation on AI & Agency (Feb. 25)

To our digital thriving community,

When it comes to generative AI in schools, many educators are being asked to referee a game we’re all still learning to play—while the rules are still being written. Policies are uneven, expectations keep shifting, and students are already making their own moves.

If you’re grappling with some of these shifts too, we’d love to invite you to join the Center for Digital Thriving for an in-person session: Educators in Conversation: Navigating AI with Agency.

The Details

  • 🗓️ Wednesday, February 25, 2026 | 5:00–6:30 p.m. EST
  • 📍 Gutman Conference Center (GCC Room 4-5) , Harvard Graduate School of Education
  • 👥 Featuring: Dr. Carrie James, Dr. Emily Weinstein, Dr. Beck Tench, and Dan Be Kim, alongside members of CDT’s Educator Advisory Council
  • 🎟️ Registration: Required due to space limitations

👉Register here to secure your spot.

This evening brings together CDT researchers and local educators to slow down, listen closely, and make sense of what it means to navigate AI in schools right now. Together, we’ll explore how we can best support and empower educators to move beyond policing AI use toward coaching students toward curiosity, discernment, and digital agency.

During the session, we’ll:

  • 🧭 Share a grounding lens from CDT’s Agency-Centered Framework for AI Literacy, developed by Dr. Beck Tench
  • 🛠️ Explore free, classroom-ready CDT practices designed to make AI use more visible, reflective, and values-driven
  • 🗣️ Hear open, candid reflections from local educators piloting these practices
  • 🤝 Connect classroom experience, youth perspectives, and policy realities in a facilitated panel conversation
  • ✨ Leave with shared language, new questions, and practical ideas for navigating this AI moment together, with intention and care

This session is an invitation to listen, reflect, and reimagine the “rules of the game”—and how we support students (and ourselves) in playing it well.

A note on IMAGINE AI

This conversation is part of CDT’s broader IMAGINE AI work—a growing portfolio designed to help schools and communities openly navigate AI with intention. Through co-designed classroom practices and reflective tools, IMAGINE AI supports educators and students in surfacing hidden use, navigating gray areas, and grounding decisions about AI in shared values.

The practices we’ll reference during the event are free, classroom-ready, and designed to spark curiosity and honest conversation. Explore them here.

We hope you’ll join us for this evening of shared exploration—and help shape what it means to navigate AI with greater curiosity, agency, and care.

Warmly,
The Center for Digital Thriving Team
